Delta Bottle Jack Features
The Delta bottle jack can be used for a variety of tasks though are typically used for jacking up a vehicle for tyre changes or sometimes for under carriage access if used in conjunction with extra supports.
These bottle jacks are positioned on the ground, under the load, therefore there needs to be enough space to insert the jack, keeping it upright; never use a tilted jack. Our Delta hydraulic bottle jacks are pretty compact with the 2 tonne model measuring just 158mm in its closed position and the largest 10 tonne model measuring just 200mm.
As with all hydraulic machinery this Delta hydraulic jack complies with the machinery directive 2006/42/EC and is supplied with a test certificate, CE Declaration of conformity and an operating instruction booklet.
Delta Hydraulic Jack Operating Tips
Operation is relatively straight forward but always consult the manual prior to use.
In brief ensure the hydraulic jack seats flat on the ground under the special jacking points on the vehicle. Turning the saddle/ lifting point until close to or touching this jack point. This allows you to re-position if necessary whilst reducing the number of lever actions required to pump up the saddle. The lever can now be located in position and cranked. Hydraulic forces will now be implied, raising the saddle and load.
We highly recommend that additional support stands are positioned under the load once raised for optimum safety and stability.
When it comes to lowering the load this can be done quite easily. It is done in a controlled manner by simply turning the release valve in tiny increments. This drains the hydraulic fluid back into the original chamber to release the force/pressure.
A safety valve is also incorporated into the Delta bottle jack design.
According to the manufacturers it is wise to change the hydraulic fluid every year. By doing this the working life of your bottle jack will be extended.
