The Restraint Harness Kit
Our standard restraint harness kit is ideal for regular use. Used correctly it will be suitable for many working at height tasks. It is designed for preventing a fall and with a risk assessment, the wearer of the harness can anchor and adjust the safety lanyard to prevent access to areas posing a risk.
The harness conforms to EN361 so essentially designed to prevent falls. However it will also help to hold the wearer in the best position whilst awaiting rescue should a fall take place.
The safety lanyard conforms to EN358 and is perfect for work positioning tasks. It is able to hold the user under tension or suspension.
Restraint Safety Harness Specifics
Many harnesses can seem like a bundle of straps and can be difficult to work out which part goes where. However these Kratos full body harnesses use different coloured webbing on the shoulder and leg straps. This helps to differentiate each area making them much easier to put on.
The safety harness has a single, dorsal (rear) steel D ring attachment. It also complies to EN361 which means it is designed for stopping falls. Yet it will hold the wearer in a suitable position whilst awaiting rescue if a fall should occur.
This safety harness incorporates 5 buckles which can be adjusted to securely fit the wearer. Thus the size is pretty universal. There is a buckle on each thigh strap, one on each shoulder strap and one on the strap across the chest. The harness has a maximum user weight of 140kg.
There is also a sit strap which is ideally positioned for optimum comfort.
The Work Positioning Lanyard
The lanyard in our restraint kit is made from 30mm wide polyester webbing. It has a maximum length of 2 metres. Although this can be made shorter thanks to the steel adjusting buckle. At one end you will find a steel karabiner with a screw lock for optimum safety, this is used for connecting to the D ring on the body harness. The other end has a steel snap hook which has an 18mm opening gate and needs a double action to open for the highest safety levels.
