About the 3 Leg Chain Sling

A 3 leg chain sling provides three anchor points for your load. They should be evenly spaced about gravities centre so the load will be stable during the lifting process.

Each leg can be terminated with your choice of end fitting. Typically they are all the same, although you could choose a different fitting on one or more leg.

Standard self-locking hooks and sling hooks with a safety catch are a great choice.

Chain lengths can be anything up to 10 metres, however if you think you may need shorter lengths from time to time then consider a set of shortening grab devices. These are the only approved manner to safely shorten a chain for lifting purposes.

When it comes to the temperature ranges these grade 8 slings may be safely be used in its pretty wide ranging. They are suitable for use down to – 40 degrees C and up to a maximum + 400 degrees C. Although the WLL will sometimes need to be reduced for extremes of temperature so research the manufacturers instructions to be sure.
