Double Leg Chain Sling Configuration
When deciding on a chain sling it is typically the size of the load and/or the number of appropriate anchor points that will determine the number of legs on the sling.
Our grade 8 double leg chain slings come a master link at the top, connecting the two legs together. This makes fitting easier.
At the bottom of each leg you can choose your ideal fitting. When ordering online your choices are;
- a sling hook complete with safety catch.
- A ‘C’ Hook.
- Swivel hooks with self lock catch.
- Standard self locking hooks.
Additionally shortening grabs are available to add to your order in order to correctly shorten a chain leg if necessary.
If you need anything else that you can’t see here then please let us know your requirements, we can usually accommodate your needs.

Using a double Leg Chain Sling
This chain sling configuration can be utilised in a vertical, straight lift, this is the simplest and most straight forward. Basket hitches and choke hitches may also be carried out, sometimes with changes to the WLL, so make sure you check the instructions and adhere to safe slinging practices.
Inspect your slings regularly for defects and get a thorough inspection and load test done each year according to LOLER regulations.
